AT-1 in a Ibanez S470?

Has anyone tried a AT-1 in a Ibanez S470 or similar mahogany S model? I like the sound of the PAF pro I put in the in the bridge, but it seems to be laking the bass that I am looking for. I am trying to get a thicker tone. I really like the "aww" type sound that seems to come from Dimarzio pickups. Right now I am playing through an Peavey classic 30 with a ds-1 for more gain. I stumbled upon this pickup from the pickup picker on the Dimarzio website, and please excuse my ignorance, as I am new to replacing pickups. I like the satch-type tone, but with a little more bass. Also, will the AT-1 split ok with the middle single coil? My S came with powersound pickups, and I like the overall output of the pickups, but not the sound. Also, what would be a good neck pickup? I tried the Paf pro in the neck, but it seems really weak and thin, probably because of the thickness of the body. Anyway, any opinions on the AT-1 in a S body?

While I don't have an S, I do have a mahogany RG, and the AT-1 (with a fred in the neck) is a really great sound!.... for me at least.
I would definitely recommend the AT-1. It is not muddy in mahogany.

In other signal chain news, the character of a tube screamer pedal has more "aww" type sound than a DS-1. That may help get you to your goal.

The AT does split very well.... See if you can find any videos of the AT-300 guitar. That is a mahogany S-type, HSS.

Well, not an Ibanez but I just put a AT-1 in my PRS Custom 24 which is mahogany. It is anything but muddy. Actually, I have to play with the height a bit because it is too bright, not real full.
