What Dimarzio

haves best clarity in your opinion? I use neck PU mainly for the cleans...

My guess is the PAF classic or the Bluesbucker. They have less output and most likely more clarity. As always, your best bet is to email
tech@dimarzio.com
.

I like
Air Nortons
in the
neck position
-I think they have great clarity.

PAF Pro
's are way overrated. I thought mine got slightly muddy on the
lower strings
. I could never get an eq good enough to not have my bridge be too bright or my neck be too bassy. The Air Nortion is awsome, very tight and clean with lots of harmonics. It's the only neck bucker I buy now.

So you said that AN haves better clarity than Paf pro? I also wonder what PU sounds better splitted... I'm affraid that AN will sound too bassy in my Mahog. guitar
And what about Humbucker from hell? Does anybody tried it?

Actually, i personally feel basswood has more low end than mahogany- mahogany seems to cut out at the lower mids, but sounds increasingly flat below that point (especially as you roll your volume back), while basswood is definately more rounded in the bottom (and gets that great satch-y wooliness going when you back up the volume a bit in a heavily distorted amp)
Just my two cents, of course...

i don't quite like the PAF Pro in the neck myself. so i looked to the Norton & was correct in discovering that it's a very good neck humbucker for many playing styles.
if you prefer high gain in the neck & still want clarity out of it, try the Super 2. that's what i play in my S540 neck. it has more output than the Norton & may not be what you wanna hear for clean settings.

Get a Seymore Duncan, and you'll be fine.

As long as it's not the Invader
Basically anything with a relatively low output but without an excess of bass will provide a clear sound in the neck slot.
I like the PAF Pro for clean and split sounds.

Im gonna stick up for the paf pro. It in its own right is one of the baddest pickups ever. THe
air norton
is great, but youve got different tones for different styles. I think the paf pro splits better as the coils are better balanced, but the air norton does have more punch but not enough butter for leads.
