Bill Lawrences Everyone should read this

I don't mean to sound like a salesperson but these pickups amaze me every time. I put them in an Epi SG Special(made of god knows what wood) and they were amazing. Great harmonics. Very balanced. Nice Woody Tone. Tons of output. Then in an Agathis BC Rich. They were just as good but brighter do to the agathis. Then into my RG4EX1(Ash). There very bright but have a ton of lows too. They just amaze me every time. If you want honest pickups(sounds depends 100% on the body wood and your picking dynamics) that r very transparent with tons of output check them out. I use the L-500R/L-500XL www.billlawrence.com

I have one in my RG750 right now. I first bought it in 1991 because I liked Nuno's sound, but then took it out and put the original IBZ back in. I decided to try it again about a week ago and I love it. It's BRUTAL!

If he made more of his pickups and made ordering a little simpler, I wouldn't be stuck with the Bill Lawrence USA one that I have. A great pickup too, though.

The ordering process for me was simple, it's just the wait for the pups to be built. But at the price they're at and for how fantastic they sound it was more than worth the money to me.

I just wish the Bill Lawrence ones (compared to the BL USA ones) would fit in a pickguarded guitar. Apparently they MUST have the pup rings??

Mine doesn't need any rings, it screws right in but there are gaps of a couple of mm each side. No big deal at all.

Re: Bill Lawrences Everyone should read this

no they fit into a pg fine(u just gotta do some cutting :-)) and as for the dude with the custom guit and the BLUSA I'm glad u like urs. It's a gamble buying them. I bought one b4 and was pissed(I didnt wanna wait a month). Apparently BLUSA uses epoxy to seal the pups, if somethin messes up they cant fix it, and ther QC isnt too great, my pup had more high pitched feedback than output from the strings, I got my money back and ordered from www.billlawrence.com(Bill and Becky) and they got here in 2 weeks. Very well worth the wait.

Re: Bill Lawrences Everyone should read this

i also love these much more than the dimebucker, the dimebuckers insanely bright in anything except mahogany b/c of the way seymour tried to reverse engineer it

Re: Bill Lawrences Everyone should read this

i have the L-500 in my Washburn USA N6 and this has become my goto guitar for the last 4mos (when i got it). smooth is the best description of tone. i'm not sure if they use 250k pots to get that smoothnes but i have never experienced a pup like this. the cleans are nice and the dirty is smooth with sustain for days and very controllable feedback. the N6 is alder bodied and it also has two Seymour stack singles in mid and neck and the output is fairly even without a big drop out when switching.
the JB (bridge) and PAF Pro (neck) are my fav pups for mahogany or mahogany/maple toppped guitars but i would be intersted in trying other BL pups.
