Blue Dimarzio Crunch Lab in an Rg Paint2 J Custom (pics inside)

Hi all

Recently purchased a Blue Dimarzio Crunch lab for my Rg Paint 2 J Custom.

Wow what an awesome sound I have. pick one note lets say 5 frett A string distortion on. The note sustains and then after a while it almost has a wah type affect kick in. So cool

Amazing for heavy metal, which is what im after... and it looks sick also...

So happy am I that my guitar already had Dimarzios factory installed, I didn't have to worry about matching colors of wires.... Im real lazy when it comes to soldering etc... I do it, but im lazy :P

that's so sick it's awesome I bet through your Mesa, it's crunch heaven! Love how the blue CL exactly matches your stock neck up... what is it anyhow and how does it match up to the CL?

... I have both D-Sonic and CL.. two different pups in terms of dynamics and tone. The D-Sonic is kinda like a TZ meets an X2N... where as the CL is like an Evo meets a D-Activator X, very mid focused and less boomy/tighter bass imho.

hmm... from your description it sounds like i should have hit up the crunch lab. we'll see how it sounds. i'm guessing you have both of these in basswood guitars?

The neck Pup is a Paf pro according to spec sheets on the Paint2, I removed the bridge pup and it just says dimarzio engraved on the back, so there is no real way of knowing for certain. The single pup is a Jem...

Im pretty sure they are Paf pros because I can tell by the sound in the neck position..

Im pretty happy with the sound...

Can someone tell me, did I install the Crunch lab the right way. I just checked out a JP clip on Youtube and the stripe part on his PUP is the other way around, ie. closer to the neck then the bridge if you get my drift.

Is there a correct way to install it or should i flip mine around ....

Thanks

from what i've read the crunch lab can be mounted either way. i suggest try it both ways. and install it the way your ears fancy. thats what i plan on doing, i have a crunch lab adn liquifire blk/crm wiht chrome poles in route.

Hey i can see u put the metal bar towards the bridge? Does that make a difference? Cause on JPs guitar the bar is facing neck.

Cheers
