well, i'll give ya a heads up review even though its been about 24hours since i installed it... btw, they're down-tuned to standard C, not dropped C

In distortion, The Breed Neck sings... it does
pinch harmonics and fast scale runs quite well. Clean is very... Hi-Fi and 3D... large overtones, not necessarily bright but clear. I went with the Breed Neck cause I was aiming for a lead guitar tone similar to Winds [Norway]. If you're familiar with early Arcturus, that's THE lead guitar tone that's always been in my head and now it's on my RG550!
The D-Sonic, is an odd beast. Just like previous threads have said, it's like a Tone Zone and a Steve's Special in one pickup [never tried an SS though]. I'm more familiar with a TZ and the D-Sonic has a similar
bass response but it has more bite and attitude in the mids. Clean mode is where everything changes; it doesn't distort like an Evo and it produces "pretty" clean passages. It's responsive to pick attack and becomes a slightly different beast as you turn the gain up. Its a pickup you'd never expect to sound good in both scenarios. DiMarzio definitely hit the mark with this one. I also got this pickup cause I saw the main guitarist for Katatonia had 'em on his signature Mayones.
