Cool

Breed Pups F spaced or not?

Hello all, I wonder if any one can explain the f spaced pick up and if any ibanez guitars use them or are ibanez guitar not f - spaced? I want to install a Breed set in an Ibanez Rg 121CDO hardtail and for the life of me can't seem to figure this question out by my own research and I have tried. Hence the favor being ask! Thanks for any info, Miamifish.

Yes go F spaced.

Really.. with today's pickups and output ratings, does F spaced or non-F spaced really make a difference? I can understand back in the day with vintage pickups, but the output of today's pickups would make F spaced or not unnecessary?

It's all cosmetic and only really shows in the bridge pickup. If you don't have the spacing of an F-spaced bridge, there's no reason to go F-spaced. Check your guitar's specs but it won't affect the sound either way.

Re: Breed Pups F spaced or not?

Good choice of pickups, Breed are the best out there.

Almost all modern guitars should be better of with a F-spaced in the bridge (even many LP style guitars). Many guitars, including your Ibanez, will be better of with F-spaced in the neck too.

"F-spaced humbuckers should be used in the bridge position on all guitars with string spacing at the bridge of 2.1" (53 mm) or greater. On these guitars, if the nut width is 1-11/16” (43 mm) or greater, F-spaced pickups can be used in the neck position as well."

It makes a difference to have the right size for the guitar, defiantly worth getting it right.
