Breeds: Tinny and Low output

Hi All,
The breeds on my DBK have a very low output and sound tinny. Going through some of the posts here, I figured it's probably due to a pickup connected out-of-phase.

In an attempt to correct this, I checked out the wiring diagrams on Ibanez's site. However the wiring diagram is very different from the one on my DBK.

Ibanez's wiring diagram uses a VLX91 and an OTAX for the pickup switching system. My guitar has a single VLX53 5-way switch.

If any of you have a wiring diagram for the VLX53, please let me know (or if you have any other suggestions to fix the low output)

Thanks
Sudhir

Re: Breeds: Tinny and Low output

Just some more info on this...

The neck pick up sounds OK (not tinny, but still a low volume). The bridge pick has less than half the output of the neck pickup and is very tinny. The in-between positions have a moderate output (as expected)...

Re: Breeds: Tinny and Low output

As stated in the Dimarzio "4 Conductor" manual (full thing can be found on their website)

"To reverse the phase of the Dimarzio pickup, reverse the red and green wires. Solder the RED wire to ground, and the GREEN wire to hot."

Your only going to want to do this with one of you pickups and it doesn't matter which you choose. Hope it works out for you.
