Re: bright sounding pickup suggestion

You can go with stacked humbuckers that fit in the single-coil slot - DiMarzio makes some very nice ones - I have a Virtual Vintage neck, and it sounds great. They also make a bridge model for that punch and bite that strat bridges have.

Word of advice, I just tried some of fender's VN (vintage Noiseless) pickups at a shop the other day and man did they sound dull. The neck was unresponsive and didn't have that "curling" sound one would expect and the bridge was nothing great either. Too sterile IMO

DiMarzio Virtual Vintages, Kinmans, Bill Lawrence 280s or EMG SA actives.

Re: bright sounding pickup suggestion

thanks guys

i never thought about getting those fender noiseless, i tried it once and i was so disappointed by the dull and weak thin sounding...

i thought about kinman, but the prices are bit high

i'll look into virtual vintages first.....
or maybe the emgs

A little late to the party, but second the Lawrences and add Evans to that list. Evans might actually be my favorites of the bunch.

Re: bright sounding pickup suggestion

The DiMarzio YJM is a great pickup as well as the Dimarzio Virtual Vintage. I've got the YJM in the middle position on my RG and the virtual vintage in the bridge position on my Strat.

Re: bright sounding pickup suggestion

I'm stumped for a middle pickup in my RG, any suggestions?

I am getting the Air Norton in the neck and the Steve's Special in the Bridge...
