Can I use this heavy duty toggle for my guitar??

Hello all. I bought this "Gardner Bender" brand toggle switch from a Sears hardware store. I was hoping to replace it with the tiny mini on/off switch I have on my RG now controlling the EMG-85. I wanted to know if this would be usable in my application.

Now the ratings are "6 AMP 120 VAC/CA" , "3 AMP 240 VAC/CA", and it's described on the box as "Single Pole, Single Throw" and "Unipolar".

My circuit may be different then most because my mini switch ISN'T even in the circuit as far as guitar signal goes. The real circuit is the EMG-85 wired standard to it's 25K volume pot and then wired straight out to the output. The tone circuit is completely removed. The volume knob is taped up securely in the cavity and the mini on/off switch is connected to the volume knob in a way that it shorts the knob when switched. As of right now I can't remember exactly how I did it but once I open it up I'll check.

Either way I wanted to check first that I could use this switch in place of the other. I figured it probably would be possible since it doesn't even really touch the circuit I dont think...Or I could be wrong. Thanks for any help!!
