D-X over X2N... I have both on two axe's...
X2N "thrashes"; a D-X puts your axe in uber-gain territory with the amp's gain at 5... very mids + bass heavy and enough treble to be slightly dark but not muddy...

X2N cleans are "spanky"... I can hear why this pup's been used for country... D-X cleans are natural with headroom... rolling down the volume to 3 or 4 gives it almost a bluesy sound...
regular D-Activators are better for pick dynamics out of the three IMO but not as in-your-face like a D-X but more dynamic than an X2N

However, a BC Rich + X2N = instant Chuck Schuldiner tone... not sure if that's the route you're going for
