Coil split, selector switch position 2 and 4, hum

position 2 and 4 on my S540 selector switch, hum, but the rest dont... is this normal? on my Jem, its the opposite and the 2 and 4 positions are silent, how can i fix this? Whats going on?

Have you replaced pickups or is the guitar stock? (or did you purchase it used?) Sounds like you've got a north-north or south-south situation in 2 and 4 and they're not hum-canceling like a normal north-south would. You could try reversing the phase of your humbuckers and see if that fixes it...

Are both of them weird? How is it supposed to be? Both guitars are different, which is correct?

bumppp... which positions are supposed to have more noise? should it be different with a stacked middle humbucker on my S, from my single middle n my jem?
