Confused about volume pot.

This may be a dumb question but I don't know the answer. Say you have two humbuckers and one volume knob. What does it do for your tone? is it like having a tone knob all the way up or all the way down or what?

No tone knob is generally like the tone knob is all the way open, or more.

No tone pot is like having a tone fully on with a little more top end. Having the tone in the circuit still removes some top end even when fully on.
