cool tone zone mod!

I own both a tone and air zone and unfortunately like both for different reasons.
I like the better dynamics, sustain lower output, clarity of the air one but love the aggressive, relentless drive of the regular one as well plus it has a BURN to the notes that is addicting
well they say you cant have it both ways
B.S!
what i did was make a half air zone
one coil(slug pole coil) is a air coil and the other is normal tone zone coil!
now i DO have the best of both pups in one !
the pup is just unbelievable! i cant beleive dimarzio did not offer this?
I will do the mod for anyone that is interested
BTW, the mod is reversible, not permanent if you dont like it

congratulation on your discovery...

But let me get this ..you took a Coil form an Air zone (split the humbucker apart) and put in side by side with a half humburcker Tone zone?... Are they "hum-bucker"?..you use them as a Split Sound too?

So now you have TWO humbucker that are Half-half, rigt?

what exactly is the sound of it ? can you describe?

sorry for my English,

cheers

no all i did was take a air zone and take out the one coils plastic air spacer and replace with a tone zones metal spacer.
if you know the design of air buckers you will understand
