I have a super 2 in the neck position on my iceman. It's a great clear sounding neck pickup with lot's of warmth, but not sounding muddy. Plus it's high output enough to match the X2N in the bridge.

Re: Diamrzio Super 3

It's pretty thick, and dark, while still staying tight in the low end. Great for metal in a thin sounding guitar(like an RG), IMO.

Oh yeah, and due to the amount of winds it's the 2nd hottest thing Dimarzio makes. Compressed. I personally love it in a basswood guitar.

I like the super 3. Give it a try. You can always exchange it through dimarzio if it's not for you.

excellent pickup, its my personal fave in basswood. i have it in my rg770dx and hm strat. mean pickup, but with tone. super hot and really beefs up a basswood axe.

Re: Diamrzio Super 3

I love the Super 3. It's huge and thick, and perfect for rounding out a guitar that's thin and whiney. I also like the Duncan PATB Distortion for the same reason. The PATB Distortion is a better pickup. It's clearer, and more articulate with the same sledgehammer punch to the amp.

Re: Diamrzio Super 3

I use the Super 3 alot.. if you go to the DiMarzio site they've got a sound clip up from mine on the Super3 page. Its LOUD and has lots of Bottom and mids.. without the mud you might expect. THICK is the word that comes to mind as posted above.
