Dimarzio BREED's ? somebody help?

I wanted to know if the breed set sounds about the same in another ibanez(RG 770) I heard them in the jem and liked them but the 770 is NOT a JEM?
I have a set of paf pro's in my rg now and am wondering IF i will like the breed's better in this guitar?

Well the JEM7DBK is pretty much like the RG700 series, with it's wizard neck and rosewood board, ok so it's more like an RG750 than a 770 but hey

I personally figure if you liked them inthe JEM you'll like them in the RG770, I don't think most folks would notice that much of a difference, if it's a newer RG770 wth the direct mounted pickups you may find a little more bass than the sound of the pickups mounted in the scratchplate of the JEM7DBK
But they should sound pretty much the same.

Lovely tight and compressed kinda vacuum-packed rhythm in the bridge position, super for palm-muted stuff or big prog chords.

I don't own any Tone Zones or Air Nortons, so I can't really compare, but I hear those are great pickups too, so it might not be such a good move to swap one of them out for a Breed...
I've copied this one over from the other thread on the same subject

Sorry about the posting prob I just realized after posting it that the JEM forum would have more luck than the other ibanez one would.

Actually probably better in tech setup section Anyhoo the 770 is basically the same component guitar as a jem sans pickguard. The guitar will have miniscule tonal differences involved so just make sure you keep that in mind

If you've had the opportunity to play a DNA, that would have probably given you the best idea of what to expect. The Breeds were direct mounted on the DNA which also requires less wood to be routed out of the guitar. Both facts have an effect on the sound. I recall that the RG770's (humbuckers) pickups were originally mounted via trim-ring and later (near the end of US availability) they were direct-mounted. Since the standard 770's didn't have pickguards, the body mass would be similar to the DNA-even the non-direct-mounted versions.

Breeds in RG3120

It's a totally different guitar (not Jem by any means), but these pickups sound awesome in RG3120. My quest for good pickups was over when I bought these. They're fat, but not muddy. They're powerful, but not overpowering. Their highs are screaming but not harsh. Clean sound of the neck pickup is (to my taste) better than the clean sound of paf pro. As any other pickup, though, it might not match with your amp very well. I'm playing my 3120 through Soldano X88R/G Major/custom made low-power poweramp/2x12 cab with G12H30 in it. Sounds GREAT on all 3 channels.

micro, have you coil tapped the Breeds at all? I'm looking for something
along the H-H with coil tap setup for my JS-6 and a future project guitar.
I'd like something different from the Fred-PAF, but it also has to have a
really good clean coil tapped.
