DiMarzio EP1112 Discontinued?!?!

I tried to order a DiMarzio 5-Way multipole switch... my favorite switch ever... and it's been discontinued!!!

Assuming I can't find one somewhere, does anyone know a switch that will work just like this one? Maybe the same thing made by a different company?

Don't even mention that stupid Ibanez mega switch. The wiring diagrams Ibanez give you still aren't working for me and having talked to techs at Hoshino, they say they don't know how the damn thing works.

Argh! [/vent]

you mean the 24 pole switch? sure, there are several other options. the "superswitch" from www.stewmac.com has the same two-wafer construction as the dimarzio 24 pole switch. this guy compares pics of the dimarzio and the Fender/WD Music 24 pole switch: http://www.geocities.com/guitarwirin...oleoptions.htm

you should've asked me. here's my pole assigment diagram for the ibnaez VLX91 switch:

mark any wire jumpers they soldered on at the factory and you should be able to make that work.

I still went through hell with that Ibanez switch... but maybe mine was broken as I am 99.999% positive there were no wiring errors.

Anyways, thanks for the links, I am going to order that Fender switch today.

Also, it is very early in the morning... but is that comparison link saying that every contact is the same between the DiMarzio/Fender switch EXCEPT for the one that is indicated? It looks like that is the case from the picture...

i think so yes -- it's moved in line with the others. i'd still check with a voltmeter when you get it if i were you, to make sure you know exactly how it's different.

The Fender ones are great: I'm using 3 of them right now, two in Jems, and one in a UV7.

Re: DiMarzio EP1112 Discontinued?!?!

not exactly, since i also have a mid, but i didn't know the # of the switch before so that was helpful, and i was able to find a few wiring diagrams.

does anyone know a good site for compare & contrast over which pickups i should have activated in each of the 5 switch positions?

For what it's worth, here are two DiMarzio HSH diagrams I found. I couldn't make out if you had these specific ones already or not.

Furthermore, here you might find some information of use:
