DiMarzio Evo bridge and PAF Joe neck pickups - go together?

Hi All, I'm about to embark on building one of the Saga PRS style guitars. The body is made of basswood and the scale length appears to be a Gibson scale length (24.75" isn't it).

I'm probably able to get a Dimarzio Evo bridge pickup for it, but for the neck I'm trying to work out what will go with the Evo. I've been thinking about a PAF Joe or Mo Joe. Would either of these go well with the Evo?

Also are both of these pickups splitable? The guitar is routed for a 3 way LP style switch (the stock switch and pots look like pretty ordinary ones though so I'll replace them), so I'd probably need two mini toggle switches to split them if they work that way?

Thanks all for your help.

EDIT
BTW I'm wanting to set this guitar up for some low tunings anything from D down to B, and for playing rhythm stuff mostly. Will these pickups work well for this?

Yes, they will go together, the PAF Joe is a great neck pickup, nice and open with some sparkle on top. I like it better than the Air Norton, which I find to be too warm and compressed as a neck pickup, YMMV, it depends on what you are looking for.

I personally like the Evo2 better than the regular Evo, it's tamed down a bit, but I find that is a good thing, the Evo can get a little harsh in the wrong hands (even Vai often uses 250K pots with regular Evos to tone them down some).

Yes, all models mentioned are splitable, I would use push-pull pots myself, I don't like extra switches and stuff cluttering up my guitar, again, that's only personal preference.

Let us know how the Saga kit turns out, the price on those is great, I've oftern wondered about the quality.

Sorry, I don't detune that much, but you might also consider the D-Sonic, that's supposed to be it's specialty.

Thanks for that. I'm currently bidding on an as new Evo on the bay which I'm hoping I'll get for fairly cheap. the harshness doesn't bother me too much, you can always just lower the pickup a bit (that would work wouldn't it). I'm using an EMG 81 in another guitar so I can handle it, I'd probably just use a 250K pot for both volume and tone anyway.

I may not get the PAF Joe straight away due to funds so I'll probably just throw in an INF neck pickup that I have for the time being, I don't mind the sound of it so it'll do for the time being.

I might also just use push-pull pots too, less work on the body for me to do. I guess I would get a push pull for each of the pots and each one will control each pickup?

Saga kit seems ok for the price. Neck definitely doesn't look quatersawn and doesn't have the best pattern in the grain, but the shape seems nice and comfortable. Actually pretty slim, comparable to a Wizard II perhaps, just a little narrower.

the evolution is a lot louder than the paf joe. It would probably be fine, but I would go evo/paf pro or evo2/paf pro

I've got a Duncan Pearly Gates in the bridge pos and a Duncan 59 in the neck pos of my PRS Custom 22 - probably not enough gain for what you are after, but the clean tones are beyond superb!

Yeah well unfortunately due to budget constraints (wedding to pay off and car loan too) I probably wont be going for these now. I read up on the Mighty Mite Motherbucker humbucker set and for the price they sound like exceptional value. Very high gain pickups so should be right for what I after.

Anyone used these? The reviews on Harmony Central were really good.

instead of those mighty mite pickups, if you are on a budget i would suggest GFS pickups.

Unfortunately it's a bit late now but thanks for the advice anyway. My Motherbuckers should be arriving today or tomorrow. I'll post up a review once I've installed them. Might be a while though...

I was installing the tail piece for the tune-o-matic bridge and unfortunately due to basswood being soft it seems that the hole for the anchor piece has warped a bit. I cannot install the tailpiece level and I've already painted the guitar too. Now I have to fill the hole with some dowel or something and redrill it and try to paint the spots that are missing paint now. Hopefully I can fix this up ok, too much money has been spent on this project now for it to be a throwaway.
