dimarzio help

i have just installed a d activator bridge. my good friend soldered the black and white wire to the 3rd pole and the red to the 8th pole. this is because the old pickup wires were already soldered there. is this the right wiring?

thanx

Re: dimarzio help

I'm pretty sure you got parallel wiring instead of series cos you bunched those wires up, which might be the problem. Well at least it doesn't sound like a nasal congestion anymore...

Re: dimarzio help

Depends on the switch. Try taking off the black and white wires off the "3rd pole" to see how it sounds.

Re: dimarzio help

I have a cortek switch btw and is the INF3 meant to be louder than the d activator. i have to lower the INF3 very low to get an even volume. Is there any way of measuring the output of the d activator.

kind regards

Re: dimarzio help

What model Ibanez is this? When you look at the switch, there should be a wire from one of the poles to ground(the back of a pot), and the black and white wires should be on that "side" of the switch. Also, he did wire the green and bare to the back of the pot, correct?
