Dimarzio PAF Pro Question

Got a question regarding model number for a PAF Pro. I took out the 2 PAF Pro's from my RGT3120 and instead of having the DP151 stamped on the back it has S1. Are these pickups really PAF's that Ibanez are advertising on these guitars?

Re: Dimarzio PAF Pro Question

dimarzio does that all the time on OEM orders for various co.s like ibanez yamaha and Fender.

example - yamaha P1 = paf pro
fender H3 = super 3

however, some OEM pickups truly are custom made with no real equivalent like the IBZ USA F1, F2, etc.

Re: Dimarzio PAF Pro Question

The S1 is a PAF Pro made for Ibanez slated for use in JS's [Satriani 1]. V1 is the same thing except there's never been a black V1 and they haven't used a V1 in many years [EVO's and Breeds only]

Re: Dimarzio PAF Pro Question

If you are not sure about the pickup model, you can always contact dimarzio through their website and email their support department. They are quick to responed and if your pickup is an OEM they will tell you what is the dimarzio equivalent in terms of sound.

Re: Dimarzio PAF Pro Question

FWIW, my 3120 has a PAF pro in the neck and a ToneZone in the bridge as original equipment.

Re: Dimarzio PAF Pro Question

I have 2 green PAF Pro's from a JEM77VBK (currently for sale). They both have the F stamp, then it says
