Dimarzio pickup Combo????

Hey guys im new to the forum though i have been on a lot before. Great Site. I am upgrading my pickups from the factory ones on my RG270 (not the most expensive thing but all i could afford at the time). I got an Air Norton for the neck and Steves special for the bridge and i was hoping that someone through experience could tell me what a good middle pickup would be to complete the combo. I like to play anything from metallica to Petrucci if that matters at all. also the guy at my local shop suggested i get a cruiser. Thank you for any incite on my question all is appreciated.
