Dimarzio super 3 in neck position ??

I have a dimarzio super 3 comming that is going in my rg giger in bridge position. I bought it from the US and I recently saw someone selling one half price in melbourne where I live. I was thinking of buying it and putting it in the neck position.

Is this gona work ?

Can I put the super 3 in neck and bridge positions ???

Of course you can. i dont suspect theres any rule on where pickups have to go.
Although ive only ever tried a super 3 in the bridge, i dont reckon it would sound horribly bad in the neck either.

Might be way dark in the neck, but if you don't like it you could keep it for another guitar down the road.

There are guys who run dual X2Ns in their guitars, so who knows, might work for you.

The best way to "fix" it if the sound is too thick and dark would be to wire it in parallel. It will still be dark, but it might be more usable. I would also recommend wiring it for single coil operation. It should make a good fat split single coil.

the air zone in the neck actually sounds like the neck pup in the eddie vanhalen ernie ball guitar now named the axis
i use a NORTON in the bridge and the AZ in the neck and they match the vanhalen dimarzio set exact
the tone zone is not as close to the EVH dimarzio bridge pup and neither is the air norton in the neck which is what dimarzio say to use to match the EVH pups but i treid them and was not happy
so i tried the air zone in the neck and a regular norton and it was dead on

I have a custom made guitar with a mahogany body, rosewood fretboard, and I totally love the sound I get from the Super 3 in the neck position. I use it in the single coil position and for clean powerful mixed rhythm with leads it can break out with the leads and still match levels with a rhythm pattern. It's my favorite souding guitar.

Unfortunatly no I ended up selling the guitar.....

But i wasn't happy with the super 3 in sound with clean, so Im guessing the neck wouldn't have been to my liking also. But you never know.. The distortion was awesome tho..

I got me a crunch lab comming soon can't wait...
