Direction of Neck Pickup

I bought two new Pickups (DiMarzio Evolution) for my Ibanez RG. I installed the bridge pickup with the cables on the right side. Must the neck pickup be installed with the cables on the left side to get the original pickup configuration? Or are the Evolution Neck Pickups already reversed, because they are build for the neck? When the Pickups are splitted, the neck pickup coil thats nearer to the middle pickup should be activated. I read that the logo on the neck pickup should be upside down, but my dimarzio pickups dont have a label on the top.

I thought it was the opposite of what you have... There is a stamp on the back of the Evos for what version or follow the wire out put.....

Does it make a difference which way around they are physically? I would think not, except that it might be hard to route the wires. So long as the wires are soldered the right way around. You could try it both ways. Maybe upside down pickups sound cool?

I though pickups have a top and bottom to them that why you have to spin around the bridge for the brightness, when ever I changed pickups I saw the bridge pickup was upside down. It was in my 2 old chavels, & rg 570.

They also have it this way in the wiring diagram.

If you look in the pickup FAQ section, they explain that the Evo pickups have a "slightly different sound if you install them in the opposite direction from normal. It’s not a matter of right or wrong, but a matter of taste for such a subtle difference, if you can hear the difference at all." Other pickups may have less difference or more difference.

There is one interesting thing though. If you put it opposite way in the split position you have coil closer to the neck being active and that gives different sound, kinda "more full" sound. On their own most humbuckers don't sound different when they are turned around..there are few that does sound different(I think DM says which in FAQ). Best way is to try and see if you like the sound..but opposite way could sound even better to you(for me it does.
