Question

EMG-707 pup

Anyone have any experiance with these? Also the site says something about it not being a direct replacement humbucker due to its extended bass housing. Does this simply mean that I need to route a battery pocket and rewire everything as I knew or does it mean something else?

Gotta route the edges of the pickup-route as well.

They are sound simliar to an EMG 85.

Most guitars have enough room for a battery in the electronics cavity

correct, the pickups are made in a bass pickup housing so they will not directly fit in a regular guitar pickup hole. You'll have to route it out a bit to allow the pickup to mount to the body.

IMHO - crap. Very sterile, without character. Sounds like the guitar unplugged.
