EMG hum


so i have a new guitar with emgs, 81/tw and an 85. it hums when its touching my torso but not when its at a 45 degree angle from me, what could cause this? I just shielded the thing, and its making me mad. Thanks

so i figured one good thing out, i know its my amp doing it i guess. My amps in a corner and if im faceing it with the guitars face or back straight at it it hums BAD. but if i'm any other wya it doesnt...any ideas?

emg's are very sensitive at short ranges
you must stand at least 5' away from your amp
tv's are very bad as well anything that emits RF
and ditch the shielding in your guitar emgs would respond poorly to envelope shielding
the only reason other than sustain to install emg's is that you don't have to shield the guitar.
IMHO after using nothing but emg's for almost 20 yrs
