EMG on off switch???


i'm pretty new to electronics but i was wondering if this setup would work for an on/ off switch for the EMG hh configuration

It should work. Anything that shorts the hot to ground at the jack will kill the sound with no hum.

i think you could actually use an SPST switch . just run the battery hot to one lug and the pickups battery line to the other. I think SPDT switch would work better though. you have one outside lug the battery hot, the other outside lug your common ground, and the middle would go to the pickups.

Standard EMG wiring with a stereo output jack is such that when the cable is unplugged, the battery is disengaged. Therefore, anything that sends the battery's black wire to common ground rather than the third lug on the jack should disengage the battery.
