EMG "quick connect" cable question

I may have a different "model" or version than what I can seem to find a picture of however the white wire is extremely thick, with an extended portion of braiding, followed by your typical white wire with exposed ending. My question involves the length of this wire, for it is FAR too long (and there is two of them), causing a too large amount of space to be taken up by excess wire. Does anyone know if the braid style stuff is stripable, and if the braid is underneath the thicker white wire towards the pickup connector. Basically, is it possible to shorten this wire?

Absolutely. EMG wires are kind of a blessing and a curse in that sense, they give you way more than enough which is great, but it's definitely thicker than typical wires so it takes up even more room when you coil up the excess. Anyway, the thin wire in the middle does indeed travel all the way up the wire wrapped in the braiding, so you can shorten it, though the braiding can be a bit of a pain to trim back.
