EMG's ordered for JEM soon! Quick "?"

I'm gonna order the white EMG 81, 85, and SA for my 7VWH. (you all can flame me later about ripping out those Evo's later...). Can they all be wired together with the 1 vol/1tone pot and same JEM style pickup switching w/o unecessary modding?

Why did you even bother getting the VWH if you're just going to put EMGs in?

As long as they're white, it's all good...that said, I don't have an answer to your question - anyone?

OK, unless you use EMG 89s(I think they are the only ones that split) you will only be able to use a 3 way switch.

Um....nieither am I. I'd change the pickups too, but it wouldn't be EMGs. That's all, if it's OK. Just wondered why he'd get the best-sounding Ibanez (I think) and then put in pickups that marginalize the guitar's own tone.

In your opinion, Maybe the guy just loves the look and feel of the VWH but also is fanatical about EMG's ;-)

Lets face it, Nothing wrong with Gibsons paf's in a LP but some guy called Zakk has EMG's so theres gotta be something in em ;-)

To each there own i say, and Latinjem, if ya don't want those white dimarzios ... You can post em this way ;-) The Evo is probably my fave pickup ... Bar none, Well i still love the PafJoe :-)

I find it funny that just about everyone in this thread has ignored this little phrase!

Anyway You may need to rout out a space for the battery, but with Jem's/RGs I thinki you can just about get away without routing. Yes you can keep the same switch but they wont split the buckers, theywill be in series with the single only.

Yes, you'll be able to fit a battery in without additional routing.

Good news! I just ordered the pickups yesterday from Guitar Center. I went with my other guit buddy. I have to say he is the master of bargaining! EMG-81...$60! EMG-85...$60! EMG-SA...$50! The guy that ordered for me is also gonna install the pickups for $50 instead of the usual $100 he charges other people. The reason i want him to do it is because I'm not all that good with the soldering iron (need to keep the original output jack and 5-way switch). What a deal. I've been struck with a serious epidemic of GAS lately! Last week I got a MONSTER deal on a Schecter C-1 Plus with EMG 81 in the bridge and 85 in the neck for an awesome $275 (out the door)! My best sounding guitar I have. For now... Also I'm gonna get some tubes next week for my peavey ultra head too. Then I'll stop buying gear. No really, I'll stop. Seriously. I need to check into a clinic.
