Evo2 and Pafpro in my McNaught?
Anyone feel the Evo2 bridge and PafPro neck in my mahogany body/maple cap,
ebony fretboard
McNaught sound good? Right now I have the Rio Texas and SD JB and it ain`t working out for me and my Mesa Single Rectifier. I`m looking for a clear sounding pickup in the DiMarzio family.

this is what an
Air Norton
Neck/Tone
Zone bridge
sounds like in an Ibanez with the same specs you described

Re: Evo2 and Pafpro in my McNaught?
i like my fred and norton. The paf pro in the neck is fat and can get a little muddy if your a little bit too bass heavy, the air norton is a cool shred style pickup for the neck.
I'll get you a clip or two of the fred and norton
how is your mesa? i played a few
mesa amps
and liked them. I am looking for myself a suitable
tube amp
right now and have gotten back to mesa as maybe being a good choice. Sorry to get a little off topic but i had to ask.

Ah that is a killer version of Little Wing. Nice tone.

I had a JS1000BP a while back. I really favored the PafPro but was so-so on the Fred. One thing I did like about the Fred was that it was pretty clear sounding. I`m not really looking for a pup to color my sound not that the Recto is anything to write home about. The Recto will soon be replaced but I still want a clear, singing pickup.

Re: Evo2 and Pafpro in my McNaught?
the norton is basically a
tone zone
with the bass tightened up and a tad less power but still has that tone zone feel.

Thanks, I am glad you found the samples helpful. The guitar is a J-Custom RG-8670, BTW. forgot to mention.
Do you have any pics of your McNaught? Those guitars are so damn beautiful.

For the sounds you describe I'd recommend an Air Zone Bridge and Air Norton in the neck.
Good luck!
