Evo2 Pickups

I wanted to know the overall tone differences between the Evo2 and the original Evolution bridge pickups if anybody has used them.

I don't see Evo2 pickups discussed really around here

Re: Evo2 Pickups

released last year from dimarzio and not many discussions about it.
i dont have any experience with the evo so i cannot evaluate it but i like the mids and the brightness of the evo2 and its output kicks distorted.

Re: Evo2 Pickups

I have one in the bridge of one of my guitars, and it's not that bad. It's like a toned down Evo, not to shrilly, not too bright, but pretty good.

Re: Evo2 Pickups

It's a good pup IMO. I have one wired for the bridge in my RG, and it was exactly what I expected it to be: very aggressive, clear, high-output, distorted easily and kind of unforgiving.

I find it to be be harmonically rich, and it still retains most of its character when rolled down on the guitar, but keeping the volume knob higher seems to make it more "expressive", as I find with most pups. One thing I will say, the tone pot on my RG's circut is out right now, and I feel like I'd appreciate the evo2 much more if I was able to play with that knob - I think it would be more usable for cleans.

I didn't think I'd be able to handle/put-up-with a full Evolution, so I went for the evo2, and I'm quite happy with it.
