EVO7/AN7 Combo

I just changed out the stock pickups in my 7620 for an EVO7 in the bridge and an AN7 in the neck. And switched to JPM 3-way switching. Now through my Line 6 POd with compression I get excellent distorted tone. When I turn compression off, I get only slightly overdriven tone. I this normal? Even through my Mesa DC-3, I used to run staight in and get distortion. Now Slightly overdriven. Would like to hear any views. Thanks

I'm using and Evo7 and AN7 in my cutom UV7BK along with the stock single coil. I don't have any problem getting distortion levels that match my other UVs with all stock Blaze II pickups. No idea what the problem may be. Are you sure you got all the wiring correct?

I'm just wondering if this is because a 3-way Fender blade switch was used instead of the DiMarzio 3-way Toggle. I have noticed a volume drop across all switch positions.

And the story continues..... This weekend, while plugging into my POD, I bumped the tone knob and the volume kicked in with beautiful distortion. Turns out my Tone pot would only work properly when held in the full position. If I let go, it would back off enough to cut output by 3/4. One clip of the wire going to the tone pot, and full out put is achieved. Now I have to buy another tone pot and wire it in. Thanks for all of the help.
