Evolution in an S-series

Anyone have an Evo in the bridge of an S-series? I was thinking of doing this, but I don't know if the bass will suffer because of the thin body. Then again the JS series are not very fat and they have FREDs., not exactly bassy pivkups.

Anyone have any thoughts? Is this unheard of? Any better suggestions for S-series bridge pup?

Haven't heard much about a Super 3. How does it compare to the Evo? I assume it has better bass, but is it good for solos? Also, what neck pickup would work best with it? Thanks for the suggestion.

Super 3 is hotter than Evo, has more bass and mids, less treable than evo. And sound very nice splited, is one of the hotter dimarzios but sounds very good IMHO. amd in S series my best pickup combo is Super2 neck / Supper 3 birdge.

And yes it is great for soloing

I bought an S2540 from another member that had an Evo in the bridge. Sounded fine...didn't notice weak bass, but then again, I'm not really crazy about that pup...I generally prefer the Tone Zone, which sounds a bit warmer and not quite so much output.

Yeah, I have a Tone Zone in my other guitar, looking for bit of a different sound for this one. The Super 2+3 sound interesting. Any other suggestions?

I'm thinking about taking your suggestion about the "supers". However, one question...is the output balanced between the Super 2+3? According to Dimarzio they are very close in output. Neck is usually less.

Lower the front pickup a little and you'll get lower output.I've had evo's,breeds and tz's in s series.Tz is my favorite. But the evo sounds good also. The super3 sounds interesting.

How does the Tone Zone sound in the bridge position of an S-series?

i know the TZ sounds good in a basswood guitar (RG, PGM)
They also sound good in "regular-sized" mahogany guitars like the RG3120
but the S guitars have a mahogany body which is small and thin -- surely this makes a big difference in tone... does the TZ still sound good in this situation?
