Evolutions or other pups in JS1000

I'm thinking about putting higher output pickups in my JS....anyone try Evos or other pups...what do you think?

I like the articulate sounsd of the FRED and PAF pro...but they're a little too weak for me....but that's my personal opinion.

i dont think you'll find the problem in your pickups after u said u like the sound of them. Perhaps u just need alittle more drive running through your amp. I own a js1000wh and a esp kirk hammett with 2 emg-81's and the hammett significantly louder by anymeans just more dirty so it seems louder. just my humble opinion. Do what u want.

Hey guys, thanks for the responses.

I'm just looking for hotter pickups. I want to be able dig in a bit more and get a bit more grind. Know what i mean?

My suggestion :

leave the PAF there and install a Super Distortion

Try a set of Breeds, they have a little more grind. Little higher output than a PAF Pro (I think a smidge more than a Fred too) check into it.

The PAF Pro/Tone Zone is a classic combination--the Tone Zone brings a lot of chunk.

An often overlooked possibility is to put the FRED in the neck. I don't like the FRED in the bridge--it doesn't have quite enough "balls" for me. But I think it's amazing in the neck position--it's just a little bit hotter than the PAF Pro.

I use the FRED/Tone Zone combination in my RG421.

excellent suggestions. I'm also thinking about just slapping on some Bill Lawrence XL500s

We'll see.
