Fast-track 1?

Has anyone ever used a Fast-track 1 in the middle? If so, how does it combine with humbuckers at the bridge and neck for clean tones?

I used to have one in my Jem with the Paf pro/ Tone Zone combo, and loved it, also I tried it in the Gambale model and that was the sound I was looking for, but was never able to get my hands on a diagram so I couldnt replicate the eexact sound.
Go for it

It does the trick quite nicely. There's some output drop, but I have always favored output drop in the middle pickup. It cleans up the signal and drags down the humbucker (even when split). If you split your humbuckers you can also split the FS1 so that it cancels hum, but it is really squeaky and bright when split. But I have used that too so I have a glassy vintage strat sound available in the same guitar as a progressive sound. When all three pickups are humbuckers, then its really like two guitars in one if you can split them all separately. My only beef is I need a new cover for mine and they only sell them three at a time!

That's interesting because the guitar I'm proposing to put the Fast track 1 in the middle is a Gambale model. What other pickups did you use in your Gambale model? I'm thinking of a Super Distortion in the bridge a Pro Track in the neck and the Fast track 1 in the middle.

I have a Fast Track-1 in the middle position of a custom strat, along with a Super Distortion in the bridge and a Chopper in the neck. The FS-1 sounds great and I would definitely recommend it. The drop in volume when using the FS-1 on it's own is pretty negligable. It's more pronounced when you mix with the neck or bridge, but for cleans it's not a problem.

The pickup I'm not completely sold on in my own guitar is the Super Distortion. It doesn't quite have enough in the mids for my liking. I'm going to try a Bill Lawrence L500 next, and maybe a ToneZone if the L500 doesn't have enough bottom end.

The Chopper totally rocks too btw

How would you describe the tone of the chopper in the neck when distorted? I may get a chopper instead of a pro-track because i'm worried the pro track would be too muddy in the neck posiotion.

The tone is great...kind of a cross between a classic single coil sound and a '59 humbucker (which is more or less what I was looking for). The top end is very clear but is still has a nice ballsy sound when playing on the wound strings.

I've never used the ProTrack so I can't make any kind of comparison I'm afraid...
