Hi folks, I've read several posts where people have used this switch for different applications and I've found one in a custom Universe I just bought.

My question is whether in your opinion, you find this switch limits the wiring possibilities when using Dimarzio or Duncan pick ups and taking advantage off their tapping capabilities...

What are your thoughts on this switch and what would you recommend over it for flexibility?

I'm not into drilling switches unless absolutely necessary, so whatever switch you would suggest as being the best for all possibilities, I appreciate your words of wisdom.

Is that just a standard 5-way switch with 8 lugs? If so, it should be able to accomodate auto-tapping of the humbuckers in positions 2 and 4 at the very least. You can get other aftermarket switches that offer other possibilities, but a single 5-way switch is only going to allow so many pickup combinations no matter what you do.
