Fernandes Sustainer

Hi folks, I'm trying to build a Jem Custom with Sustainer but I would like not to use the stock Fernandes hum which is in the kit , I was considering a Tone Zone or a Steve's Special, which one do you think is better suited for the job?
Sincerely
Stefano Giusti

Good luck with the wiring I think its a little more difficult than just throwing it in the circuit, and whatever pickup you put in will have to be four conductor. Otherwise who knows. good luck with your project and do a search. IVe seen two vwhites with sustainers in em but thats the only customs im ever seen with sustainers added besides pro owned fernandes installed systems

I'm curious about the sustainer myself...and I found this:

I thought it was a joke...but I guess not. LOL

Jackson also has a sustainer system, the "Sustainiac" that supposedly uses more of a normal pickup to drive it. They claim "it is one of, if not the only, system that the driver is actually a pickup as well" as opposed to capacitors in the circuit board. Not sure I understand exactly what that means, but you might want to check it out. It might be easier to use with a different pickup than the Fernandes. They put them on the DK2S. The fernandes functions perfectly as a pickup and I kind of dig the tone as well.

Sustainiac sustainers are also available as aftermarket kits in black or white, single coil or humbucker sized. And you use your own bridge humbucker.
