Grounded Switch?

Should the switch chassis be grounded? I have a wire from there to the back of the volume control. I haven't seen this in any wiring diagram and the noise that I have since I replaced my stock pups (v7 and v by paf pro and fred dimarzios is bigger than before with the stock ones. I was thinking that maybe this could be producing a ground loop since there is a wire connecting the 7th pole of the switch with the back of the volume control too.
Btw I have a japanese RG570 with a S1 single pup in the miiĄddle.

Everything should be grounded.
The switch chassis usually gets grounded in contact with the conductive tape/paint.

But make sure that everything is grounded (or "earthed") just once. If you accidentally ground a component twice, it will form a ground loop.
