Has anybody tried any of the Schaller pickup range?

I know theyre a hardware manufacturer, but seeing as they make some perfectly fine bridges, I'm intrigued by their pickups. In particular, their take on adjustable polpieces seems cool. Anybody have any experience?

haha, those look cool, but I'm thinking a passive preamp in a pickup isn't a great idea for tone, considering the quality of components used must be tiny little parts for tiny little prices...

I do wonder about the schallers though, since they seem to be pretty standard designs, by a high quality company, just not very well known...

Yeah Schaller are a good quality company so I would suspect they will be good but as with most things, its personal preference I suppose !

What sort of sound are you after or are you just interested in the Schallers out of curiosity ?

pure curiosity. They don't offer 7 string models, and I'm buying a 7 as my next axe, so theres no point countenancing them as prospective upgrade items.

**** that sentence was wordy...
