Help for wiring on '91 RG570

I think the wiring on my guitar is not correct, for the following reasons:

- No sound with 5 way switch on middle position;
- Middle pickup can be heard on 1, 2, 4 and 5 position.

I don't know if I can help, but I do re-wire all my guitars and have a few HSH setups. Did it suddenly stop working at one point? If so, I would suspect the selector switch. I've only had to replace one in twenty years. I would carefully check the wires for bad solder connections or a bad wire. It sounds silly, but you might try removing the backplate to expose the wiring and pots, plug it in, and at a very low volume slightly jiggle the wires. You may be able to pinpoint the source of the problem. Obviosely the wire in the middle of the three connected to the 5 way switch will be the one for the middle pickup. It might just be a matter of re-soldering the connections if they have corroded slightly, as this may not be visible to you but can happen.
