Re: HELP!? Gibson pickups vs. Duncans vs. DiMarzio

there are no pickups in the guitar currently. they were sold to a buddy. i have a 5 way switch (i think i might need a 3 way since the 496R isnt split coilabble) in the guitar. a volume and a tone knob.

You can still use a 5-way switch... Think of a Strat, doesn't have splittable pickups either, but it does have a 5-way switch.
But not all 5-way switches are equal, so it's hard to say how to wire it up.

Re: HELP!? Gibson pickups vs. Duncans vs. DiMarzio

hi. just a quick question. can i use my 5 way switch and wire the gibson and duncan for full humbucker mode? the soles on the gibson line up perfectly witht he strings. however, the duncans poles have smaller inbetween spacing and dont perfectly/little line up with the poles. is this ok?
