help jem body pickup question

hi i recently bought a jem replacement body for a project and havnt got the pickups yet. question is for dimarzio direct mount pickups does the pickup cavity have to be routed on the sides lower than the cavity i noticed on some customs some are and some arent.it is built by perle guitars if this helps help me.and does dimarzio have some not taller than others.
