Help me diagnose my 550's problem!

Hey guys, I am having problems with my 550 right now. At first it would only play out of the amp when the cord was bent at a certain angle. It was annoying so I changed out the jack. Now, it only works when the cord is put halfway in, not all the way. I am at school right now so I don't have pics but I can get if needed. it is possible I wired wrong because the jack that I bought (Allparts) is not the same as the Ibanez. The cord is not the issue because I play my RG custom on it and have tried other cords. Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have a stereo jack and you've connected the hot connection to the sleeve of the socket. Try leaving the earth where it is and moving the hot to the other solder tab on the socket.
