Help me with my pickup choice

I am about to replace the dimbucker (which I realy was never fond of) and the stock neck pick up of my Ibanez RG570EX.

I am stuck between two pickups ..
Dimarzio EVO 2
Seymore Duncan JB
Dimarzio Breed

The tones I am into are
Steve Vai
Joe Satriani
Doug Aldrich
Vivien Campbell
Andy Timmons
Nancy Wilson
Skid Row
Queensryche (cleans)
.... and generally warm 80s lead tones

Which one would you recomened OR would it be a good/bad idea to mix them and have one in the bridge and one in the neck and if so which ones where?

I would also like it to sound good on the the clean channel

Thanks

Re: Help me with my pickup choice

The EVO2 seems to be the pickup of choice around here. I've never used one myself but I don't think it quite fits the "warm 80s" sort of tone, it's a bit more modern.

I am thinking maybe the breeds are like the evo2s only more warm with less cut but I am only guessing here.

I am seriously considering evo2 bridge and breed neck but I dont know if they would go well together

I think you should go with:
PAF Pro (in Neck) + Breed Neck (in Bridge)

Re: Help me with my pickup choice

A breed neck in the bridge? why use the neck for the bridge? wont that yeild a lower output result than expected? I dont want the output too low as my band does alot of high gain stuff.

Loving the clips from the breeds btw -- the evo2 and the breed from clips are still my favorite just wish i knew whether they would mix well together with the evo2 as bridge and breed(neck) as neck

Re: Help me with my pickup choice

Breed neck output is 325mv, breed bridge output is 356mv, 30mv is very little to make a notable difference. breed neck used in the bridge has a lot of warmth an clarity at the same time. If you have a hi gain amp you should look your pickups based on their tone and feel and not on their output.

About mixing breed neck with evo2, I think the eq setting to take the best of both pickups will be a little too different, but I say so based on the pickups specks not based on experience.
