Help required with RG270 pickup upgrade

Ok guys I'll start by saying I'm very new to this modding lark!
I have an RG270 but wish to upgrade the pickups to give more power/tone/sustain etc. I have the pickups already (K.A. wpu's for the RG's HSH combi) and on recommendation elsewhere bought an Allparts 5-way 2-pole switch. Thinking I maybe should've gone 4-pole now but nevermind, I paid £10-odd for it so will use that for now.

My question is what will be the best way to wire these new pickups to a standard (Allparts) 5-way switch? Should I go for series or parallel wiring? I play rock/heavy rock and long for more sustain (granted the, albeit replacement, licensed trem and thin neck won't do wonders for it) especially on the higher frets as even with much distortion the higher notes just die quickly.

Not sure how the RG270 is wired as standard (2 cables per standard humbucker I believe, the KA's will have 4 each). I've tried looking up info etc but it's all pretty confusing and nothing much seems that simple.

This is currently the best guitar I have playability-wise so I have to give these pickups a go - your advice or recommendations are very welcome!!

Re: Help required with RG270 pickup upgrade and Floyd Rose woes!!

Hey thought I'd update this...

Got the pickups in and wired, found the H-S-H, 5-way, 1 vol, 1 tone, auto coil-split schematic quite useful in decpihering what goes where...

So that's sorted, but now the thing won't stay in tune properly so I either need a replacement trem (OFR would be awesome) or look at why this one isn't cutting it. Maybe needs the Chapstick treatment I've read about? Was alright before the action got adjusted!!

When I got this current trem (from a well-known online auction site jobby) it had slightly differently positioned nut holes to what my RG came with, could I therefore expect OFR to be different also? And is it much work to replace the mounting posts if they are a different size? Obviously less work if you're going to bigger posts as you won't need to fill the body and then drill. I guess?
