HSS Pickups (Warm Neck, Stratty Middle)

Hey I just picked up a Kramer HSS with an Alder body, Maple neck, and Rosewood fretboard. I'll keep the bridge pickup, which is relatively high output and sounds great, but I'm going to swap the middle and neck. What is a good medium high gain neck to get a really warm lead tone with (Think John Petrucci, but not a Air Norton)? I'm thinking of a Red Velvet for the middle...any others I should look into?

I already have an Air Norton in my RG550 and I just feel like something different.

Hm...I think that would be a good choice for me! What about a Duncan Hot Rails, any views on that as a neck pup?

+1 on the pro track.
I've only heard a hot rails in the bridge position so far, but I think it'll be way too "much" in neck position.

Re: HSS Pickups (Warm Neck, Stratty Middle)

OK! I'm getting a Protrack for the neck

So for the middle...

DiMarzio HS-1
or
Fender Hot Noiseless

Anyone know what would work better in both high gain and clean settings alike? I'm thinking the Fender will give me the tone I want, as I am looking for that old stratty tone, but the FS-1 looks too good to pass up...
