I need some help with pickups

This is for a strat. I have a JB jr. in the bridge. What I'm looking for in the neck is a single-coil tone that has that real bluesy, almost texas-style, wah-like lead tone. Typical of neck position single coil in a strat, but yet with more balls and more of the aforementioned wah-like tone. Mind you, I play high gain, and this pickup will mostly be used for soloing.

For the middle, I want something that sounds very clear and defined for single-picked clean notes. I use the middle pickup for clean tones, both rhythm and single-note picking, so I want something that is really clear and perhaps even bell-like without being too harsh on the high end. So, I suppose it would have to be a pretty dynamic pickup. Also, if this could handle light amounts of distortion for rhythm, that would be sweet.

If anyone could help me, that'd be great!

Oh yes, and both need to be noiseless or close to it

Duncan Classic Stack always rocked IMO. I used it in a S-H setup for a long time and never had a problem with it. Changed the H part many times but never the Classic Stack. It was an older model without pole pieces BTW- they look like they have been redesigned recently, so I don't know if that will affect the performance.

Re: I need some help with pickups

I tried hs-2 and Virtual Vintage 2.1 in RG and JEM and Blue Velvet in Yamaha Pacifica(alder body like strat). Hs-2 is not so good for strat like clean sound, its good for Yngwie type distorsion, but if you already have humbuckers you won't get much from it. Blue Velvet is kinda usual Strat tone, very nice. My favourite is Virtual Vintage 2.1,it's something like you said, very Strat like but bit more balls and that wah tone too..tone kinda stays more time "in the air". VV 2.1 are not produced any more..they say Area 58 are very close to their sound. Cheers
