i waant new pickups but noooo tone zone

yess. i have an S470 : D
I have a tone zone which used to be in my rg now i sold, but i dont like how it sounds in my s470, i like the sound but the distortion seems to be a bit muddy and dies out with no sustain
I dont want x2n or d-sonic, and more output than tone zone. how would super distortion or evo be in mohogany? i guess i know some of what evo sounds like (dragonforce..)
i could go for seymours (full shred, distortion), i dont know.. any suggestions and examples?

I love the lows that he plays here i would like pickups like these, i know its a 7 string but still, i love a sound like this output wise and tone.

the original evo and the TZ are worlds apart. The evo isnt very good for rithym and i think its way too fat for lead, try an air zone or something first, take little steps away from the TZ rather than leaping to the other end of the spectrum.

yah, i like the output of inf4 inf3 inf2 inf1, for stock pickups, but there not that great and sound flat to me.
i want to replace both the neck and bridge, but bridge first cause i dont mind the neck that much (inf1?).

In that video, it's likely the pickups were the Dimarzio New 7's (which would be the stock pickup for the RG7CST).

Maybe you're looking at the Super Distortion or the Super 3.
In the seymour duncan camp, you can always try the JB, Distortion, Custom, Custom Custom, Custom 5.

+1. I really don't know why people don't recommend it more. I have an X2N wired to a dedicated tone control that is always set at about 7 to warm things up a bit. It sounds amazing. BTW, I'm playing through a Marshall-type voiced Crate Vintage Club 50w head through a 4x10 cab. I'm not sure how it would sound out of a Mesa or similar modern high gain amp, though.

But if you have an amp similar to a Marshall, it sounds killer.

Re: i waant new pickups but noooo tone zone

im also playing a marshall, but i like playing straight through a death metal pedal on my computer, i didnt want an x2n and or a d-sonic, but they do seem like great pickups, i want to get them in chrome covers, i have on my list super distortion* evo', steve special, or seymour full shred, all of those are for bridge, dunno about neck. my top one is probably the super distortion though

Re: i waant new pickups but noooo tone zone

Humbucker From Hell is NOT a high output pickup at all. I have one on my PRS, and it sounds like a single coil without the hum (it is supposed to). Personally, I have no idea why they named it "Humbucker from Hell". It is very misleading.

Anyways though, if you are just going to be running through a distortion pedal, I hate to tell you, but you won't hear much difference between any pickups. Differences in pickups become prevalent when you play through a tube amp cranked up to a decent volume.

With that said, maybe you should check out a Breed in the bridge and an Evo in the neck. I wouldn't really recommend an Evo for the bridge, primarily because they aren't that good for rhythm playing, in my opinion. But for leads, I love the Evo Neck.

Re: i waant new pickups but noooo tone zone

I play alot of metal too, and the best combo I have found is an Air norton in the bridge and an evo in the neck. I have used this combo in both mahogany and basswood. The worst sounding pickup I ever had was a fred that was in mahogany.
