Ibanez SZ520GAB pickups

I recently bought a used SZ and I was told the previous owner had changed the pickups. All the salesman at GC told me was they were Dimarzios, so I'm assuming they are. They're not active pickups. Would anyone know a typical pickup swap and what pickups are mostly used for an Ibanez SZ?

there are lots of good pickup choices for that guitar... what sort of sound are you looking for?

Duncans are better for the SZ series in my opinion. I have just always preffered Duncans in mahogany body/neck guitars. They just have that thicker, rounder tone. I wouldn't particularly use DiMarzios for it, but thats just me.

I'd go for a nice Duncan JB/59 type combo. But it all depends on what you want to use it for, what type of music.

I think that we're actually trying to work out what someone ELSE has already installed in the guitar.

What would really help is a description of the pole pieces as some like the Tone Zone have slug and screw pole pieces and some like the Evolution have hex key pole pieces etc.

Or you could loosen the pickup rings and flip the pickups over to see if there's a DP-xxx sticker on the bottom to identify them from the DiMarzio product code.
