Installing a D-sonic on the RGA321

Hi guys, I was hoping some of you could help me with this issue of mine.. I recently got a NOS 05 RGA321 and have swapped out the pups for an air norton and a D Sonic.

However, I have difficulty positioning the D Sonic with the bar facing the neck as the pickup rout for this guitar seems to be elevated with a tiny passage for the pickup wire to go through. As such, the only way the D Sonic will fit is with the bar facing the bridge since the wire of the pickup is at the lower right side of the bar end...

I know this seems like a very obvious question and that my only choice would be to carve a bigger route for it to be placed the way i want it.. but I have seen quite a few people with RGA121s and with D-sonics installed with the bar facing the neck and I would like to know if you guys did it without any routing.

Or is this strange route, albeit a nice touch only on RGA321s? Even on my other prestige RG2570, it had a normal rectangular empty route without an elevated platform with a small passsage for the wire to fit through..

Any input is much appreciated!!

Re: Installing a D-sonic on the RGA321

I had this issue come up with the neck pickup on my 121, but I was able to fit the lead between the wood platform and the pickup mount and then run it along the bridge side of the cavity to the hole. You should be able to make it work assuming you have enough lead.
