Is F space pickup best for neck of Rg 570?

I am considering the tried and tested Tone Zone (Bridge), Air Norton (neck) and Blue velvet (mid), for my Rg 570.
However, this whole F space thing has me thinking somebody is yanking my chain.
Seymour Duncan says it is only important for the bridge on trem guitars.
Dimarzio says it is best for Neck on guitars with a nut of 43mm or greater. I beleive the 570 is 43mm.
I have seen some postings here that it is all a bunch of BS.
I am particularly concerned with getting the right Air Norton.
Any comments on the importance or lack of for an f space AN in the neck would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey Rudy...fellow LIer here....maybe me you and scott (sco_den) can hang sometime.

As far as I know, F-spacing is a bridge thing. I've never heard otherwise from anybody else. i have that particular combination in my JC and it sounds really warm and sweet. The JC is mahogany though. not sure how it will hold up in the basswood 570.

Let me know if you want to hear anything else - I'm around during the day if you ever want to stop by (i'm in plainview). I have a Basswood Jem with an Evo/PAF/Virtual 2 and a Basswood 550 with Breeds/Red Velvet (as well as the JCustom).

PM me with your email if you're interested.

Good luck!

F-spaced pups can be used in the neck, and they are just as aligned as you would expect them to be. Tone-wise there's not going to be a gigantic difference. THe main difference is aesthetic/cosmetic.

I think there was a very very very long thread here on that topic.

Thanks for the replies. When I searched I saw a couple references to a monster long thread, but I never found it.
I have the Breeds in my Jem 7DBK and like them, but I'm always playing around with gear due to my severe GAS affliction.
Kennydoe, are you and Scott going to see Vai at Westbury?

I'll be there (with aftershow passes ), but i believe Scott will be out of town.

I play every thursday in farmingdale. There's a SUNY f'dale person here on the forum - been trying to get him to come down too. He's a busy guy, i guess. This thursday should be crazy with St. Paddy's day.

I'm KennyInvisible on AIM if you want to chat - i'm usually around after 9

I found the tonezone too overpowering in my bridge, so i did something out of the ordinary and put it in the neck of my RG550
