The JYM has a much cleaner, less gain-y sound than the HfH especially on the clean setting

but again they are way different pups, one is a HIGH OUT PUT HUMBUCKER and the other is a single coil sized humbucker, how can you really compare them?

In essence their both humbuckers, one is just stacked versus the typical look of them and to me the HfH sounded alot better than the YJM did, just because it wasn't this super clean no-gain whatsoever sound

Ok, let me just recall someone that the HfH is NOT a high output humbucker... it says so on DiMarzio's website.
Don't get fooled by the name...

And the "other" is a single-spaced-stack-humbucker.

(Someone should study their lessons...)

Yeah, I was just thinking that, "hey wait on the dimarzio site you have to go to the 'vintage output' section to look at the HFH, not the 'high output' or 'medium output' sections.

Look people DiMarzio has a great tech team that wil do more than just answer your questions if you email them. If you have a question about their pickups it pays to just ask them. Not to mention do a little research yourself before asking questions on the company website and such. Not saying anyone isn't by the way.

i guess i should have done some more research on the pickup before i posted, the name did fool me, i saw a video with paul gilbert talking about it and just must of thought it was high output, my bad

anyway, with single sized humbuckers (stacked single coils) i feel they dont have the same sound as its counterpart, IE-- tone zone and tone zone s...
